Handheld

W3C dogma tells us that a URI identifies a device-independent resource. The role of the server is to deliver this resource; the client can then present it appropriately. CSS 2.0 tempers this dogma.

Handheld devices have limited, and often overpriced, bandwith, as well as limited processing power, and screen resolution.

The client doesn't want to first download everything and then decide what not to display.

Web on Demand

This blog will document my exploration of technologies for more interactive use of the web.

Web as open database. Micro-data, and mashups.

AJAX makes the web more interactive. Businesses are using xml databases to power e-commerce.
